i want to buy the furminator

I want to buy Furminator Medium/ Large for my toffee. The last season I shaved him bald, excuses being he was shedding (as usual), the weather was hot, he’s cute when bald, he was itching and having eczema, he was having ticks (and those baby ticks too!) and after shaving I even found lice on him!! Thank God I had him shaved!

But this time round I don’t think shaving is a good idea – simply bcoz the weather is cold, almost always. And altho’ he’s really cute when bald, he’s beautifully handsome with his hair on. :P hehe. Even with his thin mattress on, somehow I could feel him shivering under his cuddles. And when it rains, and when the cool wind blows.. I could feel the chill on Toffee’s hair.

I don’t want him to suffer in the cold. He’s shedding as usual. The eczema is coming out again. So far I don’t find ticks on him yet. So my option now is to get the furminator…

I’ve tried surveying it all around Malaysia – zero. Online – Malaysia lelong.com, ebay.com.my, etc – zero. The two nearest places I could look for are – Singapore (where they are sold at exorbitant prices) and ebay.com.

Gosh.. and I’m now bidding on ebay. Bidding on ebay is not easy, especially when I’m looking for a rare item. Rare in the sense that – 90% of the suppliers do not ship to Malaysia! How precious is this item ha…

I still want this brush/rake/comb (whatever you name it).. and I’m still spending hours and days bidding for a good catch..

Am praying for God’s blessing in this too, coz I’m a budget type person. :P For those who believe in prayers, pray for me too, will you? =)

finally, after 10 years... (guitar anatomy)

for those who do not know, i owned a guitar since i was 17. from zero, i learned how to pick and strum... and though i don't play well, i enjoyed being with my guitar, singing songs which sometimes even i myself have never heard of.

tat nite i was preparing my guitar for some carolling... unfortunately when all things are almost done - i heard a loud crack coming from my dear guitar. I turned to my guitar... another crack. I've heard of strings breaking up and was quite worried that it would spring onto my face. Keeping a distance, i noticed that all 6 strings were still in good mood...

as i trailed the strings from the head to its base.. i finally found the source of the crack - my saddle was giving up. sigh... and tat was the end of my first guitar. But i'llkeep the strings... just in case.

this is a picture of guitar anatomy (http://www.guitarlessonworld.com/lessons/lesson1.htm)- for those who are not familiar with it. =)

Kepong folk upset over DBKL action

Kepong folk upset over DBKL action
By CHRISTINA LOW

RESIDENTS of four areas in Kepong are angry over the sudden removal of security boom gates by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officers on Monday.

The affected residential areas are Petaling Garden, Taman Megah phase 2, Kepong Baru and Taman Sinar Suria.

Petaling Garden Kepong Residents’ Association chairman Augustine Chua said the security gates had been put up by the residents two years ago and were monitored by guards after a sudden increase in crime in the neighbourhood.

However, the residents said a notice to remove the boom gates was issued last week. No clarification or reason was given.

“We went to meet the officers from the DBKL Jinjang branch after receiving the letter, to seek clarification, but were told that the gates had to be removed as they were causing difficulty for fire engines entering our housing area,

“But, if such an incident were to occur, I am sure the guards at the gates would allow the firemen to enter without problem,” Chua said at a meeting recently.

He said he pleaded with the officers for a two-week grace period before action was taken, but the officers went to the residential area four days later with trucks and excavators.

Chua said the officers dug up the boom gates without entertaining the residents’ queries.

Businessman Ong Beng Lam, 51, who lives in Taman Sinar Suria, said the officers were rude and heartless.

“I felt really insulted when they told me, Kalau susah sangat, beli banglo sendiri dan guna sekuriti guard sendiri lah (If it’s so difficult, you should buy your own bungalow and employ your own guards for it),” said Ong, who pays RM80 a month for the security service in his neighbourhood.

Meanwhile, teacher Irene Tan, 53, from Kepong Baru, said the security service in her residential area had definitely helped in preventing crime.

“Since the system was introduced in our area months ago, we don’t fear and worry so much at night,” she said.

She added that the boom gates did not cause traffic problems for the residents or the public and wondered why the DBKL erected boom gates only at a few housing areas in the constituency.

“They have to be fair to everyone; they can’t just erect boom gates in certain areas, as they wish,” she said.

Kepong MP Dr Tan Seng Giaw said he understood the residents’ anger as he felt the DBKL should have given them a longer grace period.

“They should feel for the people, especially in bad times like this,

“Crime rates are on the rise, especially serious crimes, and it has become a main concern of the residents,” said Tan, who will be meeting the new KL mayor soon to voice the problems affecting his constituency.

Kepong Community Centre chairman Yee Poh Ping and Gerakan publicity bureau head Dr Wong Ruen Yuen, who were also at the recent meeting, also expressed their concerns and promised to solve the problem soon.

Leave Your Enemies in God's Hands

Some years ago a rottweiler attacked our golden retriever puppy at a kennel. The worthless animal climbed out of its run and into Molly's and nearly killed her. He left her with dozens of gashes and a dangling ear. I wrote a letter to the dog's owner, urging him to put the dog to sleep.

But when I showed the letter to the kennel owner, she begged me to reconsider. "What that dog did was horrible, but I'm still training him. I'm not finished with him yet."

God would say the same about the rottweiler who attacked you. "What he did was unthinkable, unacceptable, inexcusable, but I'm not finished yet."

Your enemies still figure into God's plan. Their pulse is proof: God hasn't given up on them. They may be out of God's will, but not out of his reach. You honor God when you see them, not as his failures, but as his projects.

God occupies the only seat on the supreme court of heaven. He wears the robe and refuses to share the gavel. For this reason Paul wrote, "Don't insist on getting even; that's not for you to do. 'I'll do the judging,' says God. 'I'll take care of it' " (Rom. 12:19 MSG).

Revenge removes God from the equation. Vigilantes displace and replace God. "I'm not sure you can handle this one, Lord. You may punish too little or too slowly. I'll take this matter into my hands, thank you."

Is this what you want to say? Jesus didn't. No one had a clearer sense of right and wrong than the perfect Son of God. Yet, "when he suffered, he didn't make any threats but left everything to the one who judges fairly" (1 Pet. 2:23 GOD'S WORD).

Only God assesses accurate judgments. We impose punishments too slight or severe. God dispenses perfect justice. Vengeance is his job. Leave your enemies in God's hands. You're not endorsing their misbehavior when you do. You can hate what someone did without letting hatred consume you. Forgiveness is not excusing.

Nor is forgiveness pretending. David didn't gloss over or sidestep Saul's sin. He addressed it directly. He didn't avoid the issue, but he did avoid Saul.

Do the same. Give grace, but, if need be, keep your distance. You can forgive the abusive husband without living with him. Be quick to give mercy to the immoral pastor, but be slow to give him a pulpit. Society can dispense grace and prison terms at the same time. Offer the child molester a second chance, but keep him off the playgrounds.

Forgiveness is not foolishness.

Forgiveness is, at its core, choosing to see your offender with different eyes. You don't excuse him, endorse her, or embrace them. You just route thoughts about them through heaven. You see your enemy as God's child and revenge as God's job.

By the way, how can we grace-recipients do anything less? Dare we ask God for grace when we refuse to give it? This is a huge issue in Scripture. Jesus was tough on sinners who refused to forgive other sinners. In the final sum, we give grace because we've been given grace.

Organic Barley Lemon

I was doing my homework when my mom came to me with a cup of drink in her hand. She passed it to me, "Drink it."

"what's it?"

"Barley."

oh yeah.. i love barley drink. Without any hesitation, i took a big gulp. Once the drink entered my taste-bud zone - which disarrayed all my facial muscles, i went OOOOOOOoouuuuuuuuzzzzzzzz..... i squeezed my eyes real tight, held my breath for the next few seconds and hoped tht the drink quickly pass through my throat, down to my stomach.

After a few seconds of struggle, I turned to the drink and took a good look at it. It's not just barley.

It's barley lemon. Organic.

"It's good for you, reduce your heat level," my mom exclaimed.

An "alien" in the bible?

I was reading a book this evening when i came across a quote from the bible, which contain the word, "alien".

I started to think, how can this "modern" word enter the b ible? Possibly it was initially "stranger", translated to alien in some modern verses these days.

So I went to check an NIV. Psalm 146:9: The Lord watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow.

Well, it does exist!

why always out of sale?

recently an indian restaurant opened right opposite my clinic. being the encouraging and "always supporting" neighbour, we always visit the newly opened restaurants for lunch. and boy, i got addicted to their nasilemak n karipap!!

sadly sadly.. twice i went there.. always no karipap.. always no nasi lemak...

i wonder.. hey, if you want your business to grow you've got to know wat items are higher in demand, and increase their supply.

guess i'll peep peep for nasilemak or karipap before walking into the restaurant next time.

A good photographer...

may seem to capture nice shots with his professional picture.. but there are two types of photographer - one that gives instructions to the models, and the other one, catch the scene candid.

Of these two, my vote goes to the candid one. Firstly, it aint easy to anticipate your "model"s next movement. And yet, you get a good shot.

The earlier photographer, if he missed a good shot, well, he can blame it on his models, "hey.. you didn't smile nicely.. "

But the candid one would have to secure a good shot no matter how bad the model's smile was. :)

UNDERNEATH YOUR CLOTHES (Shakira)

it's not a new song.. but its melody and syakira's sultry voice still attract me. n i like both of them. =)

---
UNDERNEATH YOUR CLOTHES (Shakira)

You're a song
Written by the hands of god
Don't get me wrong cause
This might sound to you a bit odd

But you own the place
Where all my thoughts go hiding
And right under your clothes
Is where I find them

Underneath Your Clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

Because of you
I forgot the smart ways to lie
Because of you
I'm running out of reasons to cry
When the friends are gone
When the party's over
We will still belong to each other

I love you more than all that's on the planet
Movin' talkin' walkin' breathing
You know it's true
Oh baby it's so funny
You almost don't believe it
As every voice is hanging from the silence
Lamps are hanging from the ceiling
Like a lady tied to her manners
I'm tied up to this

it's 3am now...

and i can't sleep!

mmmmm... (sobs sobs) guess i drank too much tea for supper just now.. now i learne my lesson.. do not drink tea after dinner... any tea...

help help help... :'(

i need to sleep still.. coz i'm working tomoro! I foresee that tomoro is yet gonna be another exhausting day...

hmm..m.... (sobs sobs)

Kanching waterfall half-day outing

yep yep yep.. finally the touch of waterfalls.. after.. how long - the last one i had was at kuala terengganu.. the highest waterfall in the whole south east asia.. wat's the name?Cemerung waterfall... it was a year n a half ago..

so yesterday morning me and a few of my old smkb friends went Kanching waterfall, lazy to elaborate the details. click here.. thanks to beck - he have elaborated the whole details and furnished them with some real nice pix. so fast n efficient! =)

so after the waterfall - everyone was so fatigue.. i could see some blushes in kk n beck's faces - guess sun burn guar.. and everyone's eyes were just soOOOooooOOOoooo lazy. And not to mention my legs.. aw.. they sored... although the climb to the waterfalls was just minutes (or at least it felt like minutes), and it's not really a climb.. something like climbing stairs.. unlike a real climb like sg lembing or FRIM, still... i could imagine the high amount of lactic acid accumulating in my quadriceps. ouch! I guess my walk to Mahen's hse tat morn did not amount to any warm up at all.

Thank God.. though i woke up this morn still feeling all the lactic acid and my head was throbbing.. but things seemed to turn out fine once I reached my clinic. Yep.

I'M EXHAUSTED!

I'm exhausted. Really..

Already it was 9pm... and i haven't finish all the night treatments, the clock told me that it could be dangerous to go home this late..

but my eyes looked at the poor patients..
and my heart told me to finish off all the treatments first...

So i stayed on... gave all the final treatments.. and I looked at one of them.. Jr... a very special one to me... and left him with a word of prayer.

Hopefully i'll still see him alive tomorrow, feeling much better. I'm still hoping for the very best despite the gloomy ambience.

Mukhriz: One school system will enhance unity - YOU ARE WRONG.

I grew up in a sekolah kebangsaan, i loved our nation in almost everything - from sports (even when our football team's performing well), and i loved all other races. In other words, i'm blind to the colour of the skins. I just do not care.

That attitude remained well in me from primary school, up to secondary school, until... the moment i applied to university. Forget about the "fair" system there.

So I joined a national university. Within the first semester itself, I learned and saw, that being "blind to the colour of the skins" is being naive. Even in the hostels, those in authority made sure that they look into the differences of the colour of the skin. Why?

So I grew up, ventured into the working world. And I mix around with business people - and I often heard very disappointing remarks. In our nation, the colour of the skin matters, especially in business/contract/economy terms. I guess I don't have to pose the question why.

In my opinion, the problem is not at primary or secondary school. Most children are naive. They learn and believe what the teachers say and teach. And the parents too.

The real culprit lies in the world after the secondary school - the university (especially national/local universities) and the working world (especially when you're into business).

For once, I'm agreeing with Samy's statement, "unity comes from the heart and mind of each Malaysian, and closing down vernacular schools did not mean unity would prevail."

He's right. Focus at the nidus of the problem, before making any more changes to our education system.

So you want to enhance unity? First change the heart and mind of the politicians, especially those-you-know-who. Read the paper often, and you'll see which politicians need the change. =)
