Abandoned baby girl rescued by stray dogs in eastern India

Abandoned baby girl rescued by stray dogs in eastern India

NEW DELHI (AP) - Stray dogs rescued a baby girl abandoned under a mound of mud and leaves in eastern Indian... ...The newborn was discovered when a pack of dogs began barking and alerted villagers to her whereabouts in Narhan, in Bihar state on Sunday... ...She was hidden under mud and dry leaves in a fruit orchard in the village, he said.

Wow.. i'm speechless. COme to think of it - sometimes dogs can be better friends of men than men can ever be. Stray dogs sommore. Thank God that this took place in India.

Had it been in our country, all stray dogs would have been in "Pusat Kurungan Haiwan xxx" (ready to be put to sleep). A headline such as this will NEVER happen in Malaysia i suppose.

Recently i asked a Taiwanese friend of mine, how do their government handle the stray dog issue? Her reply was simple, "There is no issue at all. Unlike Malaysia, very much the opposite, most Taiwanese are dog lovers. they feed stray dogs.. they love stray dogs. . as their own pets... the vets in Taiwanese are weaker - in the sense tat they choose not to put-to-sleep healthy animals..."

I do not know how true this statement was, but it sure created an interest in me to visit Taiwan.

RM27mil gone in 50 days

Liu: RM27mil gone in 50 days
By EDWARD RAJENDRA

KLANG: All the 54 Barisan Nasional assemblymen in the previous state administration finished their combined annual allocation of RM27mil for 2008 in the first 50 days of the year, Selangor exco member Ronnie Liu revealed.
“There was shock and disbelief when the state executive councillors found out that the allocation of RM500,000 each meant for repairing roads and drains had been used up by February,” he said....

this is TOO MUCH! I am really glad tat Selangor is taken over by the current ruling party. Prior to the election, all te bad things i've heard could be classified as rumours.. we're not tat bad.. yet.. no proof... But now that they're revealed... They have better give us a good explanation. else, suffer the consequences (n i hope tat actions will be taken against the culprits this time).
btw, anyone has any idea how's the lingam case doin? any update?

10 reasons to believe in the existence of God

(... continued)

8. The evidence of Miracles
If the Red Sea did not part as Moses said it did, the Old Testament loses its authority to speak in behalf of God. The miracles that Jesus performed, His death on the cross, and His resurrection 3 days later proved that Jesus is who He claimed to be: the Messiah.

9. The details of Nature
There are people who reason that a God great enough to create the universe would be too big to be concerned about us. Jesus, however, showed that God is great enough to care about the smallest details of our lives. God not only knows every move we make but also the motives and thoughts of our heart. God knows the number of hairs on our head, the concerns of our heart, and even the condition of a fallen sparrow.

10. the voice of Experience
The Bible says that God designs the circumstances of our lives in a way that will prompt us to look for Him. For those who reach out for Him, the Scriptures also say that He is close enough to be found. The Bible makes it just as clear, however, that we must reach out for God on His terms rather than our own. He promises to be found, not by just anyone but by those who admit their own need and are willig to trust Him rather than themselves.

10 reasons to believe in the existence of God

(continued)...

5. the Background of Genesis
The opening words of the Bible, "In the beginning God" (Gen 1:1), assume the existence of God. Genesis was written at a point of time in history. Israel's exodus from Egypt and the miraculous events have been witnessed by milions of Jews and Egyptians. From the Exodus to the coming of Messiah, the God of the Bible rests His case on events witnessed in real time nd locations. Anyone who doubted the claims could visit real places and people to check out the evidence for themselves.

6. the Nation of Israel
Many find it difficult to believe in a God who would be partial to Israel, His "chosen people." It is even harder to believe in a God who would not protect His "chosen nation" from the horrors of World War II. Yet from the beginning of Old Testament history, Israel's future was prewritten. Together with other prophets, Moses predicted not only Israel's possession of the land but also her unparalleled suffering and dispersion throughout the whole earth, her eventual repentance, and then finally her last days restoration (Deut 28-34; Isa 2:1-5; Ezze 37-38).

7. the Claims of Christ
Some say, "If God wanted us to believe in Him, He would aappear to us." According to the Bible, that is what God has done. God has come in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "I nd the Father are one" (John 10:30). "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 141:9).

10 reasons to believe in the existence of God

1. the Inevitability of Faith
Everyone believes in something. Atheists cannot prove there is no God. Faith is unavoidable, even if we choose to believe only in ourselves.

2. the Limitations of Science
The scientific method is limited to that which is measurable and repeatable. By definition, it cannot speak to issues of ultimate origin, meaning, or morality. Science by itself offers no moral guidance or values to govern our lives. All science can do is show us how natural law works, while telling us nothing about its origins.

3. the Problems of Evolution
An evolutionary explanation of life would not make God unnecessary. Even if we assume that scientist will someday find enough "missing links" to confirm that life appeared and developed gradually over great periods of time, laws of probability would still show the need for A Creator. The universe in all of its immensity and complexity did not "just happen". Many evolutionist scientists are compelled to acknowledge the possibility or even likelihood of an intelligent Designer.

4. the Habits of the Heart
Mankind has been described as incurably religious. In unguarded moments of trouble or surprise, in prayer or in profanity, references to deity persist. Denying the existence of God does not eliminate the persistent longing for more than this life has to offer. Even in our anger with a God who would permit injustice and pain, we draw upon a moral conscience to argue that life is not as it ought to be. We are drawn to something that is more than ourselves.

He hears us... indeed. :)

Pahang to adopt liberal approach on religion

KUANTAN: The state government will adopt a more liberal approach to matters concerning religion and places of worship.... ..."The committee on places of worship for non-Muslims which I chair will meet more regularly,” he said during a dialogue with several representatives of the Kuantan Chinese Methodist Church members here... ...Ti said in the past, the issue on places of worship was deemed “sensitive” and could not be debated in the open. “Now, the time has changed and this misconception should be corrected as under Article 5 of the Federal Constitution, all citizens are guaranteed the freedom to religion... ...Citing an example, he said a church group had applied to the local authority in Cameron Highlands for years to build a church but was not given an approval.
He said in other instances, certain conditions were imposed by the authorities before approval was granted.
“These problems due to many factors such as individuals, administrative obstacles and delays should not have happened.... ...Pastor Lau Seng Lye said he was glad that the state government would be more open and accommodating on issues involving places of worship... ...Earlier, the church had submitted an application to expand their building but was rejected by the local council.

Yes, time has changed, and the time is now! For those of us who joined the 2007 40days fasting&praying, we can all be assured - tat God is answering our prayers. One by one, He's telling us tat He heard our prayers, and He's answering them now.. one by one.

Praise God for His faithfullness! Hallelujah.. shout and sing hallelujah...
Keep praying for Malaysia... keep her in your prayer list, and be encouraged! :)

let a child BE A CHILD.

Math prodigy now a £130 hooker claim

PETALING JAYA: Sufiah Yusof, the child Maths genius who won a place at Oxford University when she was just 13, has been found to be working as a prostitute, according to a report in London’s News of the World.... ...Sufiah passed the Maths A-Level she needed for entry into Oxford at the age of 12... ...Three years into Oxford, she sparked a massive police hunt after running away... ...The report quoted her friend as saying: “Sufiah has suffered so many knocks in her life. I just hope she can drag herself out of this life she has got herself into.
“She deserves a much better life than this. Her gift has been a curse.”

I've seen a few cases of prodigies ended up in sad cases (dun ask me to name them, i dun have a computer's memory), and this is just one of it. I'm saddened.

How many years in our lifetime do we have, to be a child? They maybe smart, exceptionally talented, genius, yes... but aren't they still a child? Why rob away their childhood? Childhood is one of the sweetest phase we ever have in our lifetime. Don't we agree?

While we may be trying our best to bring the best out of the child, for all we know, we may be bringing the worst out of the child in her later years.

Just let a child be a child. Think about it.
