Tell me the truth
Today, kuch-kuch's owners came to visit kuch-kuch. A mother & a daughter. I was busy walking up and down the clinic when suddenly the mother stopped me, "Can I speak to you for one second please?"
I said okay, but I was shocked when she asked me to talk to her outside the ward - away from her daughter. I didn't understand the purpose of talking outside the ward. Nevertheless i obliged.
Then she started, "I need you to tell me the truth, is my dog dying? Is there still anyhope for my dog to live? I need to know the truth. YOu must tell me the truth. What is really in your mind?"
For one moment I reflected onto the movies where the kins pushed the doctor aside and asked the same questions about the dying patient inside.
I was stunned. She continued, "You must tell me. My daughter is very attached to kuch-kuch. I must prepare her first, if he's going to die. Is my dog dying? Please tell me the truth, the truth from your heart."
It was a straight-forward yet complicated request, and it broke my heart.
What is really wrong with kuch-kuch? Is he really dying? Or will he live?
Wat will tomorrow bring?
I need to know the truth too.

Hiking oil price
Opposition Leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has accused the government of being 'stupid' for repeatedly saying that our new petrol retail price of RM2.70 is low when compared to other countries in the region."As a raw oil producing nation, Malaysia should be compared with other oil exporters such as UAE (RM1.19 per litre), Egypt (RM1.03 per litre), Kuwait (RM0.67 per litre), Saudi Arabia (RM0.38 per litre), Nigeria (RM0.32 per litre) and Venezuala (RM0.16 per litre)," she argued. To compare prices with Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia is obviously flawed," the PKR president said in a statement today. . . .
. . . the PKR chief said it was common knowledge that oil companies were paying only US$30 for the exploration of each barrel of oil, and selling the raw oil for US$130 per barrel. This hefty profit, she claimed, has been enjoyed by oil companies for the past three years.
"Why isn't the government implementing additional taxes on the extraordinary profits of the oil companies, rather than choosing to increase fuel prices?" she asked.Wan Azizah said it was possible to sustain the old petrol price of RM1.92, or better still reducing it, if oil companies were taxed more, along with oil, steel and cement producers.
"Why are these companies so important to them, while the public has to suffer?" she asked.
She expressed concern that the government has spent RM40 billion for double-tracking railway project that interconnects Padang Besar with Johor Baru yet is reluctant to pay RM13-15 billion for fuel subsidies."Why did they not use the RM40 billion to build comprehensive LRT rails to fix public transportation system as an effort to reduce petrol usage?" Wan Azizah queried.
-end of quote-
I agree with what she said. Barack Obama thought of the same issue and solution too . read this, quoted from http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/president/19663634.html .. . Obama offered no new policies in his speech, which he read from teleprompters. Rather, he used the occasion to emphasize his economic differences with McCain and summarize earlier proposals. They include raising income taxes on wealthy individuals, granting a $1,000 tax cut to most others, winding down the Iraq war, tightening credit card regulations and pumping more money into education, alternative fuels and infrastructure such as roads and bridges. . .
Repeatedly linking McCain to Bush, Obama said, "our president sacrificed investments in health care, and education, and energy and infrastructure on the altar of tax breaks for big corporations and wealthy CEOs." . . . Obama criticized McCain for originally opposing Bush's first-term tax cuts but now supporting their continuation. He said he would place a windfall profits tax on oil companies while McCain would reduce their taxes.. .
here's my question: our government cries of inflation control - teaching her ppl how to save money save this save tat use less of this and tat... but ironically lifted the fuel subsidy (increased petrol price) which will indefinitely increase the prices of almost all other commodities and thus increase inflation. Ultimatum: the ppl suffer. I foresee tat in te near future more construction projects abandoned, more financial crises, more families renting houses (can't afford to buya hse - price increase), economy affected severely.
Why not increase the tax for the companies which profited from the soaring oil price???
Why are these companies so important to them, while the public has to suffer???

Being There
A conscience tat someone is being there soothes the aching soul. A pair of ever-ready-to-listen ears is wat is needed most sometimes. At times, they are the only thing needed in the conversation.
When ppl try to talk, don't interrupt their flow - no matter whether the solution suddenly zings into your left brain or whether the talker has said sth wrong... it's downright annoying to interrupt and interpret and justify and worse, solving. First listen, then observe the talker: is she asking for a solution? if you don't think so, don't suggest any.
Sometimes when she is annoyed with someone, whether she's right or wrong, it's always good to agree with her first. When she's calmed down a bit, able to smile a little - then only you discuss more into the topic with her.
Tats communication (and emotional outrage handling too). ;-)

Do Your Part
Every one plays an important part in their daily life. imagine in one day, everyone refuses one plastic bag, we would have 6 billion of plastic bags saved!
This is how you do it.
When you go to the groceries - if your purchase is less than 4 items, REFUSE plastic bags.
If you go the hypermarket, if possible - bring your own bags & refuse plastic bags. Go MAKRO.
yep yep..
If you work in a small grocery/ any shop which sells things - encourage your clients NOT to use plastic bags. Tell them, "we must recycle". I know this makes us sound naggy, boring, not "in", etc, but hey.. somebody's got to do this to awaken ppl's awareness every now and then.
Do Your Part. Start at home. .Start at your work place. Every single effort COUNTS.
TODAY.

A new achievement
Some ppl are cannibals, and they too, do not see anything wrong with it.
Many things are edible on earth, just look around you, wat God created, mostly can be eaten. But fellow frens, choose wisely those things you want to pop into your mouth.
While all things are permissible, not all things are beneficial.
ponder upon this.
Back to my topic today, i love dogs. Nope, i love dogs as pets, not food. One simple reason amongst many other reasons is: they are very interactive. They are almost always so willing to please you, they'll do watever you commanded them to, provided they understand what you meant. =) this is the trick.
As for my dog, today he achieved something new. He's learned to drink water at my command! I know many of you would bah at this, but hey, look at it, all dogs go eat, whether or not you commanded them to. They loved eating. But can you make a dog drink as you like? Many ppl always tell me the same thing, "My dog doesn't like to drink water." What if, you can make your dog drink water as often as you could? :)
Imagine you called to your dog, "Koko, go drink water!" Koko just stares back at you (i'm not thirsty).
But once you've mastered the skill : make them drink water at your command, it's a sheer joy to watch them drink water! just so cute!
Today toff achieved this new level of understanding, and i literally made him drink water again and again, and he's enjoying it! Im enjoying it too. =)

Life at work
One of it was... how patient am I?? I used to think i am a "tidak-apa-tidak-kisah-no-tantrum" person.. until i started working... here are a few good examples:
Scenario A: A man brings in a normal-looking puppy.
Me: Wat can I do for you?
Man: My dog wants to see the vet.
Me : Wat's wrong with your dog?
Man: YOu've got to ask him. How would i know?
Me: Why do you bring him to the vet then?
Man: Coz he wanted to see the vet.
Me: Look, your dog can't talk. How do you know tat he wanted to see the vet?
Man: See la, i know how to see one mah.
Me : (deep sigh) Ok. Is there anything tat worries youa bout your dog? Anything you think not rite? Or you just want a general chek up?
Man: If i know i don't have to come here lah.
Me: How's his appetite? Any vomit, diarrhoea, flu.... etc?
Man: How would i know. i work one. come home at nite.
Me: (-_-') nver mind. I'll just see what i can find.
Scenario B: Consulting a client...
Me: How's your dog's appetite?
Man: He seldom pass out stools, maybe once or twice.
Me: How's your dog's appetite?
Man: Sometimes the stool weird weird one.
Me: Does your dog still eat?
Man: I feed him rice la.. cucumber la... etc..
Me: (did you hear me?!!) Nevermind. Now i'm asking you, does your dog still eat?
Man: I not sure. I put his food there, if he finishes his food, then he finishes la. if he doesn't then he doesn't la.
Me: So does your dog finish his food this morning?
Man: yesterday got eat le..
Me: (sigh...) Ok. how about today?
Scenario C: Consulting a client
Me: I recommend to hospitalize your dog.
Man: If hospitalize you all duno how to feed him one.
Me: We'll see how, and then we'll feed him.
Man: Will he die?
Me: He's sick. And ne need to be warded. If not treated he may die.
Man: Sure die one a? I don't want him to die.
Me: If not treated he may die. If you want to take care of him at home, you have to bla bla bla..
Man: Wa.. so difficult i cannot take care one. i work bla bla bla (3 minutes bla bla)
Me: Tat's why i advice to hospitalize your dog.
Man: My dog very scared to come here one.
Me: Look, scared or not scared, your dog need to be taken care of. If you can't do it, we'll have to do it for you.
Man: My dog cannot stay one nite away from home.

5-half day! yahooooooooOOOOOoooo! ! !
well, for those who didn't knw, ever since i come back Kay-Ell i've been working 6-full days. it was very tiring, to be honest - feel like no day of rest at all. But i had no one to complain to, coz i've agreed to this 6-full-day thingy even before i started my work here. Tat's the sacrifice i had to make if i insisted on a Sunday-off. Sunday is my Sabbath, thus there's no talk-talk abt working on Sunday.
Sometimes in the morning (waking up is the hardest thing to do) i often talked to God.. "I'm really tired.. can I work less day... please.." It was just a mere talk or complain - i had no wishing or hoping or expecting...
One day, my boss told me tat he's reducing my workdays by another half - which means i now work for 5-half days only! Oh yah! God is good!
Don't you see... God listens even to the slightest, hopeless sigh of His children.
Thank you Jesus! luv ya! =)
* im reali enjoying my xtra half day off... la la la la llalalala... ;D

"John 3:16 hymn"
Verse 1
For God so loved the world I find it written
In verse sixteen, John’s gospel chapter three
He gave His life, who was for sinners' smitten
When nailed upon the cross at Calvary Chorus
Such wondrous love that passes human knowledge
That Jesus died that we might ever live
Eternal life so none need ever perish
This life to all believing souls he now will gain
Verse 2
I once was lost in darkness and imprisoned
Then came the Light in truth revealed the way
Eternal life that only Christ has given
His blood was shed that I may live this day

Food for thought - Philosophies
Philosophy is the attempt to correlate all existing knowlege about the universe into a systematic form and to integrate human experience with it... ... In any case, philosophy never depended upon a revelation from God. It has always assumed the potential adequacy of man to understand his own world and to decide his own fate...
The formulation of knowledge into a coherent system should be governed by the rules of logic which man has devised...
Quoted from Merrill C. Tenney.

one beautfiful night...
Thankfully, i had toff on leash. Unfortunately, the rott was not on leash. But thankfully again, te rott was muzzled. I waited patiently at the field for the rott to walk away, further from my route home. But he lingered around for more than 15 minutes i guess, and i started to lose my patience. Maybe.. the rott is not interested in toff..
So i started my way home. Thankfully, the rott started turning his head away, and walked abt 100m ahead of us. Toff n i walked home very slowly, quietly, pace by pace... n all of a sudden.. the rott turned his head around. I knew he saw us - me and toff. I wanted to flee right away, coz knowing toff's "i-see-dogs-i-kill-them-nature", i'd definitely not want to see him involve in a fight with a rott double his body size.
But it was too late. The rott started jogging towards us. The owner who was so-very-proud of his rott started calling fr behind, "Superman... no.. no... i beat u aaa...wei... hey!!" The rott was deaf to his words. Toff stood on his hindlegs (ready to pounce on the emerging enemy). Running away at this point of time would only worsen things. So i stood firm, held my slippers in my hands, and made toff sit still.
Then Superman arrived at my footsteps. I looked at him - eye-to-eye. Then I said to him, "No." He looked at me, quietly. The owner was walking cum jogging towards us, maybe 50m from us tat time. Suddenly, noti toff pounced onto the rott, expectedly, the rott pounced onto toff, I quickly hit the rott hard everywhere with everything i could, n u could imagine all the growls and huff and puffs breaking the silence of the nite. then the proud owner came and tugged his Superman away.
Phew!! I was angry.
Toff was being noti. Superman couldn't hold his impulses. Toff & Superman were just being dogs.
But the rott owner was overconfident with his Superman. He was not responsible for allowing his rott roam freely. He was not being protective for not chasing his dog after he noticed Superman running towards me n toff. He did not even apologize! He did not even feel sorry!
He was NOT being a man. sad.
IT WAS DOWNRIGHT IRRESPONSIBLE TO WALK YOUR DOG WITHOUT A LEASH, WAT MORE A BIG, HEAVILY-MUSCLED, HUGE-MOUTHED ROTTWEILER! I've handled many many rottweilers before, and I've seen how many of them broke and tore the muzzles. So i know how dangerous it is for a rott to roam freely. Muzzled, or without a muzzle on.
wat if a naughty child bumped unto Superman, mocked him and threw things at him (children very often do these silly stuffs, rite)? Don't tell me tat Superman will stop to think rationally, weighing the advantages and disadvantages of attacking the child. Wat if Superman meets a bitch on heat? So many worse things could happen. Why did the "man" open such unnecessary doors?
Folks out there, please, please (me begging you here), always, always walk your dog on leash. It is simply being a responsible dog-owner for your community. And please, please educate your frineds who have dogs. Irregardless of small or big, or tame or fierce dog, walk them with a leash on.
ps. very often we read in the papers, "rottweilers attack people!". But you know wat? Most of te time, the very culprit was the victim and dog owner, not the dog. The dog was just the scapegoat.

Abandoned baby girl rescued by stray dogs in eastern India
NEW DELHI (AP) - Stray dogs rescued a baby girl abandoned under a mound of mud and leaves in eastern Indian... ...The newborn was discovered when a pack of dogs began barking and alerted villagers to her whereabouts in Narhan, in Bihar state on Sunday... ...She was hidden under mud and dry leaves in a fruit orchard in the village, he said.
Wow.. i'm speechless. COme to think of it - sometimes dogs can be better friends of men than men can ever be. Stray dogs sommore. Thank God that this took place in India.
Had it been in our country, all stray dogs would have been in "Pusat Kurungan Haiwan xxx" (ready to be put to sleep). A headline such as this will NEVER happen in Malaysia i suppose.
Recently i asked a Taiwanese friend of mine, how do their government handle the stray dog issue? Her reply was simple, "There is no issue at all. Unlike Malaysia, very much the opposite, most Taiwanese are dog lovers. they feed stray dogs.. they love stray dogs. . as their own pets... the vets in Taiwanese are weaker - in the sense tat they choose not to put-to-sleep healthy animals..."
I do not know how true this statement was, but it sure created an interest in me to visit Taiwan.

RM27mil gone in 50 days
By EDWARD RAJENDRA
KLANG: All the 54 Barisan Nasional assemblymen in the previous state administration finished their combined annual allocation of RM27mil for 2008 in the first 50 days of the year, Selangor exco member Ronnie Liu revealed.
“There was shock and disbelief when the state executive councillors found out that the allocation of RM500,000 each meant for repairing roads and drains had been used up by February,” he said....
this is TOO MUCH! I am really glad tat Selangor is taken over by the current ruling party. Prior to the election, all te bad things i've heard could be classified as rumours.. we're not tat bad.. yet.. no proof... But now that they're revealed... They have better give us a good explanation. else, suffer the consequences (n i hope tat actions will be taken against the culprits this time).
btw, anyone has any idea how's the lingam case doin? any update?

changes & transitions...
yep! while they do give me sweats, im not saying tat they're not good. sometimes they're good.. sometimes.. they're just pure BAD. so far... in my life.. as far as i recall.. all the changes have been for goood. yeah. tat's a good news.
firstly, the transitions... fr childhood to teenage to ...gosh... i'm not young anymore. tis is not a good thing. :(
secondly, my study & working places & states & ppl, colleagues & friends & environment... been thru so many changes.. n it's good. kinda eye-opener to me. ;) & it's fun, btw.
thirdly, changing church when i first shifted back to hometown.. boy, it wasnt easy. searching n looking and adapting n trying to fit in. headaches.
now my office has been using cards (paper-works) to file patiet records. and hey.. good news.. we're progressing into a paper-LESS world. (sweat!) n it's reali taking up lots of our time... testing our adaptation skill.. confusion limits.. oh wow.. i sure hope tat it's for good...
here's a cliche to comfort myself: "Changes make you grow, my dear!"
so far the office is stil in a mess.

10 reasons to believe in the existence of God
8. The evidence of Miracles
If the Red Sea did not part as Moses said it did, the Old Testament loses its authority to speak in behalf of God. The miracles that Jesus performed, His death on the cross, and His resurrection 3 days later proved that Jesus is who He claimed to be: the Messiah.
9. The details of Nature
There are people who reason that a God great enough to create the universe would be too big to be concerned about us. Jesus, however, showed that God is great enough to care about the smallest details of our lives. God not only knows every move we make but also the motives and thoughts of our heart. God knows the number of hairs on our head, the concerns of our heart, and even the condition of a fallen sparrow.
10. the voice of Experience
The Bible says that God designs the circumstances of our lives in a way that will prompt us to look for Him. For those who reach out for Him, the Scriptures also say that He is close enough to be found. The Bible makes it just as clear, however, that we must reach out for God on His terms rather than our own. He promises to be found, not by just anyone but by those who admit their own need and are willig to trust Him rather than themselves.

10 reasons to believe in the existence of God
5. the Background of Genesis
The opening words of the Bible, "In the beginning God" (Gen 1:1), assume the existence of God. Genesis was written at a point of time in history. Israel's exodus from Egypt and the miraculous events have been witnessed by milions of Jews and Egyptians. From the Exodus to the coming of Messiah, the God of the Bible rests His case on events witnessed in real time nd locations. Anyone who doubted the claims could visit real places and people to check out the evidence for themselves.
6. the Nation of Israel
Many find it difficult to believe in a God who would be partial to Israel, His "chosen people." It is even harder to believe in a God who would not protect His "chosen nation" from the horrors of World War II. Yet from the beginning of Old Testament history, Israel's future was prewritten. Together with other prophets, Moses predicted not only Israel's possession of the land but also her unparalleled suffering and dispersion throughout the whole earth, her eventual repentance, and then finally her last days restoration (Deut 28-34; Isa 2:1-5; Ezze 37-38).
7. the Claims of Christ
Some say, "If God wanted us to believe in Him, He would aappear to us." According to the Bible, that is what God has done. God has come in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "I nd the Father are one" (John 10:30). "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 141:9).

10 reasons to believe in the existence of God
Everyone believes in something. Atheists cannot prove there is no God. Faith is unavoidable, even if we choose to believe only in ourselves.
2. the Limitations of Science
The scientific method is limited to that which is measurable and repeatable. By definition, it cannot speak to issues of ultimate origin, meaning, or morality. Science by itself offers no moral guidance or values to govern our lives. All science can do is show us how natural law works, while telling us nothing about its origins.
3. the Problems of Evolution
An evolutionary explanation of life would not make God unnecessary. Even if we assume that scientist will someday find enough "missing links" to confirm that life appeared and developed gradually over great periods of time, laws of probability would still show the need for A Creator. The universe in all of its immensity and complexity did not "just happen". Many evolutionist scientists are compelled to acknowledge the possibility or even likelihood of an intelligent Designer.
4. the Habits of the Heart
Mankind has been described as incurably religious. In unguarded moments of trouble or surprise, in prayer or in profanity, references to deity persist. Denying the existence of God does not eliminate the persistent longing for more than this life has to offer. Even in our anger with a God who would permit injustice and pain, we draw upon a moral conscience to argue that life is not as it ought to be. We are drawn to something that is more than ourselves.

He hears us... indeed. :)
KUANTAN: The state government will adopt a more liberal approach to matters concerning religion and places of worship.... ..."The committee on places of worship for non-Muslims which I chair will meet more regularly,” he said during a dialogue with several representatives of the Kuantan Chinese Methodist Church members here... ...Ti said in the past, the issue on places of worship was deemed “sensitive” and could not be debated in the open. “Now, the time has changed and this misconception should be corrected as under Article 5 of the Federal Constitution, all citizens are guaranteed the freedom to religion... ...Citing an example, he said a church group had applied to the local authority in Cameron Highlands for years to build a church but was not given an approval.
He said in other instances, certain conditions were imposed by the authorities before approval was granted.
“These problems due to many factors such as individuals, administrative obstacles and delays should not have happened.... ...Pastor Lau Seng Lye said he was glad that the state government would be more open and accommodating on issues involving places of worship... ...Earlier, the church had submitted an application to expand their building but was rejected by the local council.
Yes, time has changed, and the time is now! For those of us who joined the 2007 40days fasting&praying, we can all be assured - tat God is answering our prayers. One by one, He's telling us tat He heard our prayers, and He's answering them now.. one by one.
Praise God for His faithfullness! Hallelujah.. shout and sing hallelujah...
Keep praying for Malaysia... keep her in your prayer list, and be encouraged! :)

let a child BE A CHILD.
Math prodigy now a £130 hooker claim
PETALING JAYA: Sufiah Yusof, the child Maths genius who won a place at Oxford University when she was just 13, has been found to be working as a prostitute, according to a report in London’s News of the World.... ...Sufiah passed the Maths A-Level she needed for entry into Oxford at the age of 12... ...Three years into Oxford, she sparked a massive police hunt after running away... ...The report quoted her friend as saying: “Sufiah has suffered so many knocks in her life. I just hope she can drag herself out of this life she has got herself into.
“She deserves a much better life than this. Her gift has been a curse.”
I've seen a few cases of prodigies ended up in sad cases (dun ask me to name them, i dun have a computer's memory), and this is just one of it. I'm saddened.
How many years in our lifetime do we have, to be a child? They maybe smart, exceptionally talented, genius, yes... but aren't they still a child? Why rob away their childhood? Childhood is one of the sweetest phase we ever have in our lifetime. Don't we agree?
While we may be trying our best to bring the best out of the child, for all we know, we may be bringing the worst out of the child in her later years.
Just let a child be a child. Think about it.

Places of worship and schools to pay only RM1
Loads of lauds go to the new Selangor government for being so considerate! for the first time i guess.. in malaysia.. hip hip, horay goes to Khalid n frens. :) btw, i'm just a bit confused. Do these "places of worship" include buildings which are rented for church purposes?
I sure hope they do.. but then.. who will be paying off the rental fees?
Orders for new cars cancelled
PENANG: The Penang Government has cancelled an order for five new Perdana V-6 cars worth RM623,000 which were ordered by the previous administration for its exco members. (http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/3/27/nation/20760205&sec=nation)
hey.. did you read tat? RM623k ++ saved!!! oh.. i know it's not a huge amount for a nation, but it certainly is significant, so... a round of applause to the new penang government! hip hip, horay!!! they indeed have taken the first step for others to follow.. i'm indeed looking at a better government now. FINALLY!
yeppiee yeppiee.. yep yep.. =) gambatte Lim Guan Eng & Khalid!
May God bless their kind efforts.
how i'd love to be a child again.
Yesterday was just as bad. As usual before I went to bed, i said a short prayer to my Father in heaven, including asking him to heal me. Then i slept. Peacefully.
In the middle of the night, i heard soft knocks on my door.. i wasn't quite sure whether it was real, or just my dream. So i left the door knocking for some time, till i finally woke up, sat up, and listened. Then i heard my mom's voice calling me softly from behind the door.
I slid down my bed and opened the door. There my mom was standing, her eyes tired, hands holding a cup of herbal tea. I was sleepy, so all i did was thanked her simply, drank the tea and went straight to my bed.
This morning, my mom woke me up when the sky was still dark, and asked me to drink her herbal tea again. I got up, saw her weary eyes and I was really touched, i wanted to hug her and peck her on the cheeks immediately but it was not a norm.. yet.
Just now, as i talked to my mom, she told me tat it took her almost an hour knocking on my door before i got up. And my bad, loud coughs woke her up. AN HOUR!! CALLING SOFTLY... I was really touched, and thankful to God for giving me my mom.. how blessed am i..
I felt like I was back to my childhood... where my parents were always by my side, waking me up to take medications.. bringing me to the doc.. caring for me.. but now i'm a grown up.
oh how i'd love to be a child again.

NGO or non-NGO?
SHAH ALAM: Several hundred supporters from 12 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) held a peaceful demonstration at Dataran Shah Alam here yesterday asking Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim not to appoint a Deputy Mentri Besar.
The group asked Khalid not to even consider a non-Malay for the number two post, and to maintain the previous number of Malay executive councillors in the state.
The crowd, led by Selangor Umno Youth chief Abdul Shukur Idrus...
TheStar should seriously look into the meaning of NGO. A crowd led by a political leader is called an NGO demonstration? Come on... the ppl may be from certain organizations.. (be it NGO or not) but when this is a politically-biased demonstration, the word NGO is no longer relevant here. why mention it?
smart readers should be able to distinguish the irony within the passage.
btw.. tis question couldn't help but kept popping into my mind - why isn't there any police declaring this as illegal demonstration? peaceful yah.. but why not illegal? why the absence of water cannons and tear gas? why is BERSIH illegal then?
aren't we weird?
anyway, nevermind the lopsided actions by the police.. the rain called them off anyhow. :p

wat do i do?
Some time later, i began feeling more and more insecure whenever he's in the clinic, coz he's a bad tempered man who really loves dogs and always appeared drunken. Everytime he speaks, his head was wobbling up n down, left or right, it's as tho' his head was so heavy. When he speaks, he doesn't look at you, he'll look at another place and still talk to you (as though he's looking at you). So i requested to my boss tat i would not consult his cases anymore. Unfortunately, everytime he came, my boss was not there, and i had to consult his cases.
Today he called the clinic, saying tat he wanted to see my face!!! I can't face him. There is this strong instinct within me tat's calling me to avoid him as much as i could. I even requested that when I'm alone in the clinic I would not open the door for him. But how do i ignore someone who's pressing the door bell??? If i looked out at the person pressing the doorbell, then he would see me! How can i not open the door then?!

Malaysian Election 2008
I'm anxious, excited. With the nationwide prayers going on, I believe that Malaysia will be heading for a better government now. God willing. More oppositions in the parliament. More voices from the public. More transparency. More corruption cases disclosed and ACTIONS TAKEN AGAINST THEM. More righteous leaders upheld. More discussions before dumping millions & billions of tax payers' ringgit into the drain/dustbin. (btw, does anyone remember wat happened to the indelible ink issue?)
Better ministers to handle international interviews. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfpYZ4IGenY)
More meaningful argument/discussions in the parliament. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iCgZohPSI8) And better manners amongst the MPs.
Less discrimination.
While there are many issues to be discussed and decided upon when the new government reforms, there are a few issues which should not be forgotten.
1. Lingam case
2. Gerrymandering
3. Murder case of Johor MIC deputy chief Datuk S. Krishnasamy
4. Press freedom.
5. Judiciary independance.
6. (u name it)

What Clothes Do You Wear?
Nakedness in this story is symbolic for sin. Adam and Eve were now sinners. So God makes clothes out of animal skins to cover them up. What happened to the animals in order to make these clothes? They had to die. One of the animals Adam had just named had to be killed.
Unless we accept the clothes given to us by Jesus, we are never going to be acceptable to God, because they are the only ones that can cover up sin. Some people think they will be okay with God because they do a lot of good things, they might even go to church or temples, but that is trying to cover ourselves with "fig leaves" like Adam and Eve made for themselves.
There are also those people who think "hiding in the bushes" is somehow going to make God irrelevant. Go through life ignoring God, putting Him off, and never really getting around to committing their lives to Him, but eventually they will stand before God and be exposed for the sinners they are.
Then there are people who like to make excuses why they never heed the call to repentance. Too busy... guys' got to have some fun in life... or Christians are just a bunch of self-righteous hypocrites anyway.
None of these excuses are going to wash with a Holy God. One day all mankind is going to stand before God and be judged by the clothes they are wearing.

Jonker street - cny08
Another CNY is gone.. tis year only me, papa n vin went to melaka - visited our relatives.. from house to houses.. and the 2nd night we went to jonker's street. Surely i dun have to describe all the deco n atmosphere.. the pictures speaks for itself. :)
It was a thursday, so the streets were still "open" to cars, which was quite dangerous.. but the passengers in the cars were enjoying the night scenery from behind their windows. As for us, it was a hot n humid day, but thank God it was windy - you know, the
Spring Breeze (chun fong). It was fun..After abt 2-hours' walk, we went to have my fav prawn mee.. but sadly bo-liao.. then asam laksa.. also bo-liao... wat to do... it's getting late.. so gotta do with the only
remaining curry laksa... + cendol as dessert. :) luv them. :)This is "The Geographer" cafe - i remembered years ago i've been there with my college frens and i drank my first irish coffee there. It was very bitter, tho' the name and
look of the coffee was tempting, and it was pricey i remember, RM11++ for a cup of coffee. Anyway, it was a bad try, i couldn't even finish 5% of it. I guess bcoz it contained some % of wine, n i jz couldn't stand the smell of wine. Any wine.
It was quite a nice place for young n olds to hang out, esp during the cny mood, just look at the crowd! n the oldies they play.. it just mesmerizes the ppl there. :)Tis was me - on te way back home. Sleepy...

Bibles confiscated at LCCT.
---
Fu: Seized Bible copies returned to owner
PUTRAJAYA: Copies of the Bible taken from a woman at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal recently have been returned to her, Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Fu Ah Kiow said.
He said the that English Bible was confiscated by a Customs officer from the woman who had just returned from a visit to Manila.
He said it did not involve the ministry.
“The Customs officer has no authority to do so and on being told of the matter, we asked the Bible to be returned immediately to the person,” he said.
Fu said the incident should not have taken place, adding that he had clarified the matter with the Council of Churches Malaysia (CCM).
He said the address of the person was taken but no telephone number was noted down and as a result, the ministry had to wait for the person to call to collect the books.
He was responding to a statement by the CCM secretary-general Rev Dr Hermen Shastri that a Malaysian Christian had her Bibles taken away by Customs at the airport.
Shastri said that the unilateral actions of certain government agencies were undermining the Government’s stated claims of protecting religious freedom in the country.
Last month, Fu ordered Christian children’s books with drawings of prophets to be returned to a bookshop in Kuala Lumpur after the books were seized by a unit in the ministry.

Indelible ink to make its mark
Besides India, Wan Ahmad said the Philippines, Indonesia and many developing countries – especially those in Africa – also used indelible ink to prevent election fraud. SO? What's the exact purpose? How does it prevent election fraud? Where goes the purpose of our smart MYKAD? btw, do the Philippines, Indonesia, African nations citizens have something like MYKAD?
Wan Ahmad said only a small mark would be made on the finger and the ink would stay for about two weeks. So the ink will stay on OUR finger for 2 weeks. Wat right has he got to "decorate" the citizens' finger?
For this general election, the commission said it would need 48,000 bottles of the ink. This will cost RM2.4mil and the whole procedure will take less than RM1mil to implement. RM2.4mil + RM1mil = RM3.4mil. We could have done so many things to help the poor and develop the economy n nation with such amount of money! Why are these people always looking out for ways to waste away the tax-payers' hard-earned money?
First with the "astronaut" program. So we spent the money. One of the malaysians has been up to the moon. So what? Did it bring us any good besides bringing us pride? btw, wat is there to be proud of.. we're barely a "passenger" on the trip to the moon. Anyway, back to the main issue - didn't the cabinet discuss abt this in the first place? Have they ever wondered why only developing countries are using this "ink" system and NOT developed nations like Singapore, US, Great Britain, Aus?
We are already infamous for changing national policies frequently, and most of the time, unnecessarily. I remembered very well when i was still a student, the education ministry necessitated us to speak Bahasa Malaysia baku during exams, then they changed it to Bahasa Melayu, and later they thought Bahasa Malaysia will sound better. Then we have a beautiful national song Negaraku. One day someone smart thought tat the tempo was too boring, so the entire nation agreed (no choice) to a "rock" Negaraku, then someone complained tat it's not patriotic enough so we changed our tempo again.
Is a national issue something so insignificant tat it can be changed easily every now and then so long as those in authority are happy? Do the authorities ever realize how much valuable time n money we spend every time there's any slight changes in the national policies?
I do hope they cancel this "ink mark" process ASAP, before the general election comes. If they do not cancel it now, years down the road I'm pretty sure they'll abort this system anyhow. It'll make no difference, except tat every 5 years we'll dump a few millions of ringgit into "somewhere". Anywhere.

Today I will make a difference
by Max Lucado
Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark.
Today I will make a difference. I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving.
Today I will make a difference.I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It's OK to stumble… I will get up. It's OK to fail… I will rise again.
Today I will make a difference.I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.
Today I will make a difference.

Luke 16 : 9-12
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?
And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?

Barbaric, WE ARE!
Love for those who live under our rule/reign, who can't even speak for themselves? Dogs are well known "overseas" as man's best friend. And it clearly does not apply to our authorities. Who in their right mind will "get rid of" their best friend?
Stray dogs. Was it their fault to be borned? Is being alive a SIN in itself, which deserves the death penalty? Instead of focusing our blame at these poor creatures, it is time we open our eyes and look for the root of this "stray-dog" phenomenon. You don't eradicate grass/weeds by chopping off the leaves/brances, YOU LOOK FOR THE ROOTS.
What else can we do besides chasing, catching and shooting stray dogs, which at the same time also terrifies the public and haunts the children?
Education is where it all begins. Start educating the public to neuter/sterilize their pets. Start educating them to avoid their pets free-roaming and thus stop giving birth to innocent stray puppies n dogs! Start educating the public to STOP BUYING or adopting pets and later on abandoning them in the market/food stalls/etc. Is the authorities lending a hand to the NGOs (SPCA, Klinik Kembiri) in this? They ought to be.
Putting healthy dogs to sleep via "humane" euthanasia isn't good. It's fundamentally cruel. SHOOTING stray dogs in the public simply is outrageous, disgusting, sickening and horrid. Uncivilized.
And who said Taiping is a peaceful town? With people holding rifles aiming at innocent fleeing dogs? Ended up at shooting an old "civilian"?
It is time we start pondering on ourselves: Do we really know what is love? What is sympathy? What is caring? How do we express it? Are we doing it the right way?

AsiaOneNews: M'sian state sued for demolishing church
Mon, Jan 14, 2008AFP
KUALA LUMPUR - A GROUP of indigenous Malaysians has launched a suit against the country's only Muslim-ruled state for allegedly tearing down a church built on their property, a church leader said on Monday.
The church in northeast Kelantan was demolished by district officers in June last year, shortly after construction of the wood and brick building was completed.
Moses Soo, who was to have been the church pastor, said the case will be heard on Tuesday in the high court of state capital Kota Bahru.
'We are suing the state government and the Gua Musang municipality for tearing down the church. They have no right to tear down the church on orang asli land,' Soo told AFP.
The land belongs to the orang asli - original inhabitants of Malaysia - under traditional title, he added.
'The village headman sacrificed his orchard for the church,' Soo said, adding that they are seeking compensation from the state government to rebuild.
The National Evangelical Christian Fellowship of Malaysia has said it was told the church was torn down because it was built without permission.
Kelantan is ruled by the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), the country's main Islamic opposition party.
Malaysian commentators have sounded alarm over the growing 'Islamisation' of the country and the increasing polarisation of the three main ethnic communities, who mix much less than in the past.
Religion and language are sensitive issues in multiracial Malaysia - dominated by Muslim Malays living alongside minority ethnic Chinese and Indian communities - which experienced deadly race riots in 1969.
Recently there have been controversies over the banning of construction of a proposed Taoist statue on Borneo island and the destruction of Hindu temples by local authorities.
The orang asli make up less than one percent of the nation's population and are disadvantaged in terms of income, health, education and living standards. -- AFP

Flee or Flea?
JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story.
His dad read: "The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt."
Concerned, James asked: "What happened to the flea?"

being "RATIONAL"
He talked about how he came to know about Jesus. Like me, he used to be a Buddhist. So one day, someone walked to him and told him, "You have only one life. No reincarnation. If you believe in Jesus you'll go to heaven, if you don't believe in Jesus, you'll go to hell when you die." The church broke into laughter. (I couldn't believe anyone in my lifetime would dare say this to me. :)
(ps. believing in Jesus does not merely mean, "yah, i know he was once alive." It means believing wat the bible says: he is God the Son, and receiving Him as Lord & Saviour of your life.)
However, instead of scolding tat person, he thought for a while.
Buddhism believes in karma: if you behave good this life, you'll be a better person ie. prince, in your next life. If you're a bad guy this life, you may end up being a rat in your next life. So he began to rationalize a little.
"Say I believed Jesus this life, and when I die, I realize that what Buddhism claimed was true. I will still have one more life to live, in fact i'll be a better person anyhow. But if I do not believe in Jesus, and when I die, I found that what He claimed was indeed true, I'll go to hell! And there's no second chance!"
So being a mathematical n rational person, he received Jesus out of fear. But God was good. From tat moment on, God started perfoming miracles and answering prayers in his life. And then he truly began to believe by faith.
I smiled. God indeed has His ways to convict people.
I used to be a very stubborn person, deaf to all claims about Jesus. But God found His way to me anyhow, and turned me around. Many of my frens, n siblings couldn't believe tat I would end up believing in Jesus (I was HARD-NECKED n rebellious u see..). I can't explain.
It's a long, never-ending story.. of God's grace in my life. ;)

Amazing Grace
This movie showed how he and his friends struggled to end the slave-trade in Great Britain, against all odd, as Great Britain's plantation and other industries were backed by slaves working there. In short, to end slave-trade is almost equivalent to destroying his own nation's rice bowl (chinese proverb :p).
They struggled hard... and the story was touching, not to the extent of me crying, but I would rewind the movie and rewatch through out again and again. I just luv it. ;) Thank God i was watching it alone.
William and his friends succeeded in the end, after 15 years of struggle. Isn't that long?
*hats off to them. =) *smiles*

so the bookmark was like a little memory i leave behind for them to behold. It was a very simple, barely 3x6cm bookmark, decorated with a little gold dust, cartoons i drew n short messages from my heart.
Recently i bumped into one of these frens.. had a short chat with him, and to my surprise, he told me, "I'm still keeping the bookmark you gave last year."
I smiled, "It was a cheap, simple bookmark... I didn't expect u to keep it for so long..."
Then came the next beautiful surprise. He took out his wallet, and out of it he took a small piece of paper, "It has always been with me, all the time."
"Woooowww!!!" I squealed & jumped up excitedly. I grabbed the paper from his hand. It was exactly the same bookmark i made for him. I was elated! First, I've never thought that he will keep the bookmark. Secondly, he kept it in his wallet!!! All the time! I had almost wanted to hug him, but being a "serious" person, I told myself, "Self-control.. self-control..."
Wow!! Tat night I couldn't sleep. smiled... all night long.. =)
The thing here isn't about a "he" or a "she", but rather the "act". Someone who appreciated & treasured a little simple gift from me, tat he/she kept it by his/her side all the time, in his very own personal space - WALLET!
I couldn't be more touched. :')

An Act of Love
"We should always note that this is a distinctive characteristic of the Christian martyr -- it is exclusively an act of love, towards God and towards men, including the persecutors," he told crowds in a rainy St. Peter's Square.
"Christian martyrdom reminds us of the victory of love over hatred and death," he said.
St. Stephen was stoned to death by a mob in Jerusalem at a time when Christianity was first starting to spread. The Pope said such martyrdoms continued to this day.
"It is not rare even today that we receive news from various parts of the world of missionaries, priests, bishops, monks, nuns and lay people persecuted, imprisoned, tortured, deprived of their liberty or prevented from exercising it because they are disciples of Christ and apostles of the Gospel," he said.
The Pope did not give any examples, but it is less than two weeks since an Italian Catholic priest was stabbed in his church in Turkey, the latest in a spate of attacks on Christians in the predominantly Muslim country.
Another Italian priest in Turkey was shot dead in his church by a teenager in February, and in April three Christians had their throats cut at a Bible publishing house there.
On Wednesday, Hindu hardliners in India burned and damaged 12 churches, killing at least one person, in an outbreak of violence sparked by the reported injuring of a local Hindu leader by a Christian group.

Is Jesus coming to your house?
This little story reminds us of one of life'ts most important questions. "Is Jesus coming to your hosue?" As you celebrate with Christmas festivities today, be sure to ask, "Is Jesus coming to our house?"
That's what Christmas is all about - the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. John says, "The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." A popular paraphrase, The Message, says it like this: "The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighbourhood." That's Christmas in a nutshell: Jesus is coming into our world, our neighbourhood, our home.
Let's make sure Jesus is coming to our house. It's the only way to really celebrate Christmas!
prayer: Lord Jesus, please come to our homes and into our hearts so that we can truly celebrate your coming. Help us also share with others the good news of your coming. In your precious name we pray, Amen.

How God showed his love
Just then one of the prisoners stepped forward and said, "I took it." The moment he said it, the guards began to beat him until he was dead. After the prisoner had died, the shovels were counted again. No shovel was missing! A fellow prisoner who told this story said he cried at the sight of such love.
But as powerful as that display of love is, it's just a dim reflection of God's love for us. It's merely an illustration of what John talks about when he says, "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.. God... loved us so much he sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
That's Christmas: God showing his love by sending his Son into a cold, cruel world to die for us. It's God shouting for all to hear,
"I LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY!"
prayer: Father in heaven, thank you for your great love for us. Give us the grace to accept your love by believing in our Saviour. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
*adopted from Today.

it's christmas!
say.. wat comes first into your mind whenever the word "christmas" pop up into your mind? santa claus? reindeer? pine tree? gift exchange?
if it is so, then you ought to reshuffle your thinking about christmas. Christmas Day is actually a day which we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. I repeat, Jesus' birth. there is nothing to do with santa claus or reindeer or pine tree.. etc... these are just icons commercialized by the business-minded people..
Tho' we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on this day (25 Dec), but his real birth date is unknown. So it's just a day for the world to come together in thanks giving, for God so loved us, he sent his only Son, Jesus to earth.. to appear in human form.. that whoever believes in him, shall have eternal life and not perish.
On this christmas, let's look up to heaven, close your eyes.. and smile.. and just be thankful.. =)

who hit my kancil!
sumone hit my kancil's nose today! it was my fault tho', for parking at an illegal slot/corner, as i've went around the jusco parking areas so many times for almost half an hour, and the temptation to squeeze into the illegal slot was so strong. you know.. kancil.. the "squeeze-in" queen..
besides, i have always been doing this - illegal parking at shopping malls - one-u, jusco..
after my lunch at jusco tis afternoon, i was horrified to find my car plate broken into two! and there were 2 lil dents on my kancil's nose.. oiyo.. so saddening! n frustrating... which clumsy-hit-and-run-away did tis?!
anyway, i learned my lesson well. First, I aint driving to any shopping complex anymore (except for carrefour & tesco, haven't ban them yet).
Secondly, no more illegal parking. Even if i have to walk a half hour distancE!
Thirdly, take my dad's advice seriously.
HAIAYAAAAAAAA!!!! sob* sob*

peace.. serenity...
I was walking toffee on the field late this evening, around 9pm. the nite was beautiful, as i closed my eyes i could feel the gentle breeze caressing my cheeks n hair.. oh wow.. then i took toffee to the nearby playground and lied on the slides, eyes gazing at the clear sky. Oh wow!
It was a quiet, peaceful nite... watching the white cottony clouds decorating the dark sky.. i can't help from smiling alone - admiring God's wonderful creation. =) & my thoughts went back to kuantan..
where TC was my favourite spot.. where few of my brothers n sis in christ would gather once in a while n watch the moon... have dinner n supper together.. enjoying the sea breeze.. Christine, Gary, Moses, Alex, Peter.. together they stamped a very beautiful print in my heart..
I still miss & love kuantan... ;)

(a joke2share)
When the banker & lawyer entered the dying preacher's bedroom, the preacher held out his hand & motioned them to sit on each side of his bed. Then the preacher grasped their hands, sighed & smiled contentedly. No one said anything.
Both the lawyer & banker were touched & flattered tat the preacher requested for them to be with him during his final moments. but they were also confused coz the preacher had always been criticising them about their greed & despiseful behaviour. The preacher never particularly liked them.
Finally, the lawyer asked, "Preacher, why did you ask us to come?"
The preacher gathered his strength & smiled with his eyes closed, "Jesus died between two thieves, and that's how I want to go."

how to treat a fierce dog?
how to treat them?!
it's just so frustrating. first, to set up the iv (intravenous) line would take us (personnels) alot of risks of being bitten, then everything have to be done extra slowly, just in case.. who knows..
n all the injections... each injection will require a few personnels...
to make things worse, after all the hardwork of setting up the drip, when you place the dog back in the cage...
HAVOC!!
he started barking, jumping, screaming, trembling & shaking the entire cage until his drip came off. (-_-')
and we have to redo everything from the start. It's just so difficult. why can't they understand? How to get well if they dun allow ppl to treat them? (.....)

wil pets cause allergic to ur kids?
Studies prove that the opposite is actually true. Pets can significantly decrease your child's allergy risk! Multiple studies performed by researchers and doctors, including allergists and pediatricians, have proven that having two or more dogs and/or cats during early childhood reduces the risk of allergies by up to 77%!
A study at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta allergy tested 474 six year-old children in Detroit. About 33% of children who were not exposed to pets as infants or had only one pet tested positive for allergies. Those who lived with more than one pet as babies had at least half the chance of developing allergies.
Pets do not only decrease the odds of developing animal-related allergies, they also decrease the risk of other allergies, such as grass, dust mites, and ragweed. Because children with allergies are more likely to develop asthma, pets may also lower the odds of having this dangerous respiratory disease.
It is believed that dogs and cats reduce the risk of allergies because of the bacteria carried in their mouths. Exposure to this bacteria causes a child's immune system to develop a response system that makes allergies much less likely. Protecting children from these exposures and living a very clean life may take away the opportunity for a child to develop these defenses.
If you are worried about the effects your pet will have on your children, consider this article, and talk to your doctor. Keep in mind that your pet is also part of the family, and he has a lot to offer your children.
Your pet will help keep your child active, teach responsibility, provide love and friendship, teach respect of animals, and even improve physical health!

Koko's left... :'(
4weeks ago a lady caught 3 stray puppies from a temple to my clinic, to "park" the puppies here while waiting for the animal sanctuary's consent. I was shocked at receiving the puppies - all of them were so frightened they were salivating nonstop, vomited & passed motion in the one small cage.
I brought them in & named them Kaka, Kiki & Koko. All 3 were scared all the time, & very defensive. Everytime I neared them, they would squeeze into the corners of the cage, growling. When I tried touching them, they would snap. Defensive. Few days later, Kaka & Kiki were sent to the sanctuary, Koko was having diarrhoea, thus was retained here.
While Koko was here, I trained her to be a friendly puppy, & she eventually placed her trust in me. Everymorning I would walk to the kennel & called, "Koko!" she would quickly wag her tail like crazy, and danced & jumped about like the "lion-dance" dancers. So very cute! Each time I opened her cage, she would run, skip & lope happily into the office. Everytime I hold some food in my hand, she'd sit & wait quietly by my side politely, trusting tat the food would be hers eventually. I bathed her, hugged her.. it was fun, just adoring her.
Today I let her play about in the office as usual, and suddenly the sanctuary owner, Ms Cici walked in. I was shocked. Though she was supposed to take Koko more than a week ago, I had not expected her to come today. "I'm here to take Koko," she said. My heart cried a big NO but my mind told me tat Koko doesn't belong here. Koko was already hiding underneath the table & boxes, for Ms Cici was a stranger to Koko.
"Koko..." I called gently. She walked out to me, eyes scared. "You're going home now..." I hugged her. "Be a good girl & do take care..." My mind started wondering wildly, "How does the sanctuary look like? How will Koko survive there? She'd be terrified!"
"One of the 2 puppies died," Ms Cici said. I was horrified, & I'm sending Koko there! What will happen to Koko? I couldn't think. Against my will, I carried Koko into the car, hugged her tight for the last time & gently placed her amidst all the things packing up the passenger seats at the back.
Koko was shivering, she looked at me. She had trusted me. & I had betrayed her trust. But there's nothing I could do, but to pray...
"Dear heavenly Father, I trust Koko in your hand today & please, please take care of her... keep her safe in your arms..."
Will I ever see her again?

direction-blind
Even if i've been to tat place more than 20x, i still dun remember. Places like bangsar, sunway, subang, pj, sk.. even menjalara, maluri, segambut, sri sinar! It's so unbelievable. But this lameness didn't really bother me until now.
I was driving my sis n bro home from bangsar just now, as usual, i didn't know the way, and my brother directed me the whole way until a part ( i think jalan duta roundabout) he told me i was supposed to turn left. I heard him, but it never occurred to me that i'm already at a roundabout! I was in the centre lane..
So i was still driving at 60kmph n didn't even slow down on reaching the roundabout. Suddenly my sis yelled from the back, "sis, the lorry!" I pulled the emergency brake and to my horror, a huge lorry just sped past my right in the roundabout. It was just a split second.
Had my sister not yelled in time..
had my brake been a second slower..
had my driving speed been faster..
I thank God for his divine protection..

coach carter
In 1999, Carter found himself in the center of controversy when he locked out his entire Varsity basketball team in order to motivate and push them to improve their academic grades. You see, in the rough, urban California setting of Richmond High, only 50 percent of all students graduate. A measly 6 percent go on to attend college. Six out of 10 male students end up jobless, while a whopping 80 percent wind up in jail.
Not only did the coach close the gym, but he also banned any and all basketball-related activities. He was even prepared to cancel his entire season after 15 of his 45 players failed to live up to the classroom standards (to score at least 2.3) they agreed to in a contract they had signed earlier in the semester.
This drastic action aroused rebellion in many of his players, especially Cruz, who was also involved in drug trafficking. Cruz rebuked Carter's action, quit the basketball team and continued drug trafficking. Few days later a fren of Cruz was killed after some dispute with some gangster (probably due to drugs also). Watching his friend dying right in front of him shocked Cruz to the core.
That same nite, Cruz went knocking on Carter's door, asking Carter to accept him back into the basketball team. I had thought that Carter would say some harsh word, or reminded Cruz of his rebellion the day he quit the team, but Carter did none of tat. Instead, Carter hugged & comforted the shocky+teary Cruz.
Watching this i felt my heart shrank & tears started pooling in my eyes. I was like, "Wow! This man has the heart of Jesus! He truly knows how to love!" Immediately his action reminded me of the prodigal son & how God had forgiven our sins while we were still rebellious sinners on earth!
oh wow.. i wonder when will i ever know how to love like Jesus does?
